Unisphere for PowerMax - What's New

Unisphere for PowerMax enables the user to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems.

Unisphere for PowerMax is a HTML5 web-based application that allows you to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems. See Overview of Unisphere for PowerMax for an overview of the applications and functionality of Unisphere for PowerMax.

The following table describes the user interface impacting features that are introduced in Unisphere for PowerMax in release 10.4.0. For information about all the new features in this release, see the Unisphere for PowerMax Release Notes.

Feature name Feature Description
Add/Remove Smart DR Phase 2 - U4P This feature supports the addition of devices to the Metro DR environment from the R1 through a cascaded staging configuration. The feature supports the removal of devices from a Metro DR environment from the R1 into a cascaded staging configuration (see Add volumes to a SRDF/Metro Smart DR environment and Remove volumes from a SRDF/Metro Smart DR environment).
Workload Planner Performance Remediation - Phase 1 This feature supports the improvement in the performance and user experience of the WLP Planning dashboard and Planning Provisioning Wizard, especially when dealing with large amounts of data (see Managing planning jobs using a Planning dashboard).
U4P - Expose Health Check Results to Health Score This feature supports the generation of an alert and a health score deduction (in the Health Score component under the Configuration category) when a health check fails to run or one or more of the health check tests fail. This deduction is automatically cleared once a health check has been run and all tests have passed. There is also support in this feature for the generation of an alert and a health score deduction (in the Health Score component under the Data Protection category) when a threshold breach occurs for Local Replication Utilization (see Understanding the system health score and Perform system health checks).
Dynamic licensing This feature supports the ability for systems that are born on PowerMaxOS 10 Q2 2026, or later, to enable dynamic licensing automatically using Dell MyAccount (see Install licenses).
Retract obsolete packages This feature supports the ability to automatically remove obsolete packages from the Updates list (see View OS and embedded application updates).
OpenID Connect (OIDC) SSO with EntraID, PingFederate, Okta Identity Providers This feature supports OIDC SSO login for users authenticated with Microsoft Entra ID, PingFederate, and Okta Identity Providers (see Configure authentication authorities).
